Jan and family... Words cannot express how saddened we are by your loss. He had a great outlook and made us laugh whenever we were around him. We will miss him with you. Know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers. Johnston/McNutt families

Name: McClune Family
Relation: Friends-Hockey
At this very difficult time, there are not words that can express our sadness. May God hold all of you gently in his hands and carry Dan safely home. It is odd how lives cross, we have know Jan from elementary school (SS Peter and Paul), and then our sons played hockey together which allowed us to reconnect. Through this connection we had the great pleasure to meet and know Dan. Although quiet in many ways, we recall the support he gave Danny and Matt throughout the years. I can see him standing at the top of the stands watching with pride as his sons took the ice. Also, his subtle sense of humor, and delightful laugh. May these and other happy memories comfort you. May God Bless, Bob, Diane, and Jim

Aunt Jan, Dan & Matt, There are so many memories - what comes to mind instantly - dry wit, little Army men, the best sweet tea, long commutes into Pittsburgh, huge music collection, fantastic artist, educational television and hockey! Our sincere condolences. There are no words to say, please know that we love you and are here for you. Our prayer is that the love of Jesus wraps around you during this difficult time. Praying for peace that surpasses understanding. All our love, Renae, Steve, Madison & Emily Hartson

Dan was an amazing driving instructor. It is sad to hear of his passing. He had a great personality and was very encouraging. I thought I would never get my license but in only a few lessons I was able to pass my test. He often said wonderful things about his family. Dan said we will never forget his name because his initials are on the license DL (drivers license) but we will never forget him for the person he was. He will be greatly missed! With greatest sympathy, April Willem - BCRC

Name: Shawn McGreevy
Relation: Cousin
Dear Jan, I am Danny's second cousin on his father's side. We went to high school together in Lonaconing. I had the good fortune to be able to reconnect with him through e mail this past year while working on our family tree. He didn't really remember me because I was only in 7th grade when he was a senior. In high school, Danny was always a sweet and gentle boy whom everyone loved. It seems to me that many of the men in our family have his clever wit and soft-spoken ways. He helped me so much in putting together our family tree and his love for you the boys was always apparent. I didn't know Danny was sick, and I was hoping to be able to see him at a family reunion we were planning in Harpers Ferry next year. I feel so heart-broken by this news and I truly regret that I did not have the chance to see him again. It has taught me a hard life lesson: we just never know which day will be our last-don't put things off. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
