Judith A. Filla of PENN HILLS
07/17/1937 - 03/28/2010


Judith A. Filla, 72 of Penn Hills, formerly of Waynesburg, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on the morning of March 28, 2010. Born July 17, 1937, in Clymer, PA, she was a daughter of the late Eugene W. and Sarah (Taylor) Reardon. She was a graduate of Clymer High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education with a major in elementary education from California University of Pennsylvania. She retired while teaching at Penn Hills Middle School and St. Paul Cathedral. She was the organist for over 30 years for several parishes, including St. Georges Episcopal Church, Waynesburg and St. James Episcopal Church, Penn Hills. Judith was an active participant at the Senior Center where she enjoyed bingo and several social groups. Her greatest passion was her family. She was a loving mother of one son, Jerry Michael (Angie) Filla, Australia; five daughters, Wendy Dresser, Robinson Township, Eleanor (Logan) Brubaker, Atlanta GA, Ann Marie (Brian) Matthews, Beaver, Sally (Gary) Bradshaw, Gulfport, MS, and Terry (Greg) Tafelski, Newport, MI, and twelve grandchildren, with whom she especially cherished. Preceding her in death besides her parents was her only brother, John Eugene Reardon. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the NOLL FUNERAL HOME INC., 333 Third St., Beaver. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Beaver, by Rev. Dr. Jeffrey A. Arnold, and Reverend Canon Douglas Sherman.
