Jeanette A. Nelson of Vanport

Jeanette A. “Netzie” Nelson, 82 of Tamaqui Village, Beaver passed away April 9, 2010 in Rochester Manor. Born February 16, 1928 in Conway, daughter of Fred J. and Dana M. Sweesy Nelson, she was a secretary for Attorney C. Gus Kwidis. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Wilmer “Duke” Nelson and Raymond B. Nelson, and three sisters, Della Erzen, Beaulah M. Hamilton, and Dana Paar. She is survived by three nephews: Fred R. Nelson, Spring Hill, FL, William N. Hamilton of Ohio and Robert D. Hamilton of South Dakota; six nieces: Sally Jo Patton, Judy Kotouch, Debbie Faltenovich, and Paula “Angel” Kunkle, all of Economy Borough, Lynnette Matter, Erie, PA and Kathy Erzen, Rocky River, Ohio. Jeanette devoted many hours to volunteer work at Villa St. Joseph in Baden, the Beaver County Humane Society Shelter and Heritage Valley, Beaver. Her love of pets (especially cats) had her housesitting her friends’ animals when they were away. There was no viewing per her wishes. Private interment took place April 13 at Rehoboth Cemetery in Economy. There will be a memorial service at Rochester First United Methodist Church, 341 Jefferson Street with her pastor, The Reverend Dr. Donald W. Dotterer, Saturday, May 1 at 11 AM with a luncheon to follow. Donations in Jeanette’s memory may be made to the Beaver County Humane Society Shelter.
