I first met Dave when my husand and I went to look at the house that would become our first family home. When we moved in, he left peacock feathers as a good luck home welcoming gift, and his number should we need anything at all. That kindness soon made him one of our closest friends. I am still trying to accept the fact that he will no longer be helping me plant my garden, giving me tips, working with my husband on the million projects they had going on and teaching us all he had to know. He had a fondness for our young daughters - particularly my youngest because they share the same birthday. They loved to tell him stories that he probably didn't really have an interest in, but he gave them his attention regardless, patted them on the head, and encouraged them to get dirty playing in the dirt because "it doesn't get any better than that". I will truly miss having him near, making me feel safe and secure all the time, and to call on when I need help with anything at all. I'll miss hearing the late night and early morning whistles calling the dogs, and every single other thing about him. I know, though, that he is now feeling healthier than ever - and we were blessed to have shared our lives, property, and a million memories with him. He was a great friend.

Dear Clara, Fran and family, Please accept our condolences. David reminded me so much of my brother, Chris, with the way he chose to live on a farm and have lots of animals. I hope David felt contentment. If you could send a hug through an email, Clara, my arms would be around you~ I'm so sorry that you are going through this~ Love, Linda and Jimmy

Dearest Clara and family, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to all of you and let you know that my thoughts & prayers are with you all. May your memories of life with David fill your hearts and keep his spirit close to you always. Although we do not understand, the Lord's timing is always right and He has granted David eternal peace and health. Although I only got to see Dave once or twice a year when he came to visit you, I have lots of great childhood memories that I will always be thankful for. He was a great friend, neighbor and buddy to me when we were growing up. I know in my heart that he holds a very special place in heaven because he was a very special person here on earth and I will always treasure having been a part of his life. If there is anything I can do to help ease your burden, please let me know. God Bless All of you!
