Dale W. Doughty of Midland, PA

Darrell W. Doughty, 77 of Midland passed away Friday morning, May 14, 2010 at Heritage Valley, Beaver with his family at his side. Born September 30, 1932 in East Liverpool, OH, he was a son of the late J. Elmer & Gertrude Bussard Doughty and had been a resident of the Midland area all of his life. He had retired from PBI Industries, Incorporated of East Rochester and was a social member of the Midland VFW. Surviving are a brother, Glenn (Margaret) Doughty, Ohioville, 3 sisters, Dorothy Heffner, Eula Mae (Richard) Mattern, all of Kissimmee, FL, Mary Kay (Robert) Schettler, East Liverpool, and many nieces and nephews and their families. Preceding him in death besides his parents were two brothers, Earl & Dale Doughty, and 5 sisters, Evelyn Brucker, Bernice Saucer, Jessie Wallenberg, Marian Justice, and Sarah Shreeve. Friends will be received Sunday from 2:00 pm until time of service at 6:00 pm in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Ave., Midland. The service will be conducted by Pastor Wilmer Olszewski of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church. Private interment will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made if desired in Darrell’s name to a charity of your choice.

When I think of Darrell, I always picture him standing outside Mary Kay's house talking and laughing with all the neighborhood kids. I feel very sorry to hear this news. I can remember when I was a little kid Bernice lived across the street from us, and us kids always looked forward to when he visited Bernice.
