Mary L. Downey of BRIDGEWATER

Mary L. Downey, 73, of Bridgewater, passed away Saturday morning, May 15, 2010, at Heritage Valley Beaver, surrounded by her family, following a courageous four year battle with cancer. Born December 8, 1936, in Tiltonsville, OH, she was a daughter of the late William and Angie Martin, and had been a resident of Bridgewater the past 20 years. She was also a former member of the New Brighton American Legion. She will be sadly missed by her husband of nearly 51 years, John W. Downey; three sons, Kenneth (Jeannie) Haywiser, Brighton Township, William (Debbie) Haywiser, New Brighton, and Wayne Downey, Bridgewater; two daughters, Chris (Paul) Tharp, Monaca, and Cindy Kincman (Colby Parkinson), New Brighton; a sister, Marla Taylor, Monaca; her husband's sister, Diane (Arthur) Erickson, Texas; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; her canine companion, Lucky, and her dearest friends, Glenn and Jean Dove, Monaca. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the NOLL FUNERAL HOME INC., 333 Third St., Beaver. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
