I worked with Joe many years ago at UPMC. He is still remembered there and I will always remember him with great affection. Joe took time to interact with my young son who had never known his father, taking him on his water skis among other activities. He made the time to visit the funeral home when my mother passed away, in order to offer support for myself and my son. He was a good man and I know he was welcomed into heaven with great love and joy. I am so sorry for the loss Joe's family is suffering, and hope his family can find comfort in knowing that he will be remembered with respect and affection.

Mrs Smith and Lisa,
I am very sorry for your loss. Joe was a very special person that positively impacted my life. I met Joe when he was in college and I was a young teen trying to figure out life. Joe took the time to teach me how to ride motorcycles and would let me tag along when he raced. At the time, racing was the best thing. After years of reflection, I realized that Joe had taught me a lot more. Even when he had moved to Pittsburgh, he would stop by and check on me when he was home. Joe was a mentor and a friend that will always be part of my life. I hope that my words bring a little comfort during this difficult time and know that Joe is with me and many others even after his passing.

So sorry to hear of Joe's passing. For the past 10 years, I have worked with Joe at our family business renovating his kitchen and bathrooms. All of us here, at Johnstons, enjoyed the time we spent together making selections and overseeing the various projects!
