Agnes Joan Roknick Haffey

Agnes Joan Roknick, 88 formerly of Beaver, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 after an extended illness.

Born August 14, 1926 in Beaver, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Sr. and Agnes Hallisey Haffey. She was a secretary at the former Westinghouse Electric Corp. plant in Vanport where she worked for 10 years. After marrying the love of her life she became a housewife who cared lovingly for her family. She lived her entire life in Beaver and comes from one of the oldest families of the greater Beaver area who settled there shortly after the Civil War. A member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, she was a devout Catholic who served her church and its many causes. She was a member of the Rosary Alter Society and Keenagers, both of Saints Peter & Paul, and served for many years as a volunteer for the American Red Cross.

Preceding her in death, besides her parents, were her husband Samuel Roknick who passed away in 1978, a brother, Thomas P. Haffey Jr., April 6, 2015, and a sister Mary Haffey Decker.

She is survived by her two sons, Paul Roknick, formerly of Beaver, and Michael (Lori) Roknick, Sharpsville, a sister, Eileen Haffey Morris, Lansing, MI, a granddaughter, Sarah, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends will be received Sunday from 12 to 4 pm at the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church by Father Robert Miller. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
