Ann Begg

October 11, 1925 — July 2, 2017

Ann Emily Ciglar Begg, 91, of Brighton Twp, formerly of Industry, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 surrounded by her family.

Born on October 11, 1925 in Begovo Brdo, Croatia, she was the daughter of the late John and Katie Ciglar. Ann was a faithful member of St. Blaise Parish in Midland, having previously been active at St. Christine Parish in Industry.  While at St. Christine, she made the baptismal bibs, and at St. Blaise, she enjoyed cleaning the Altar and church on a weekly basis, and cherished the company of the other altar ladies. She had been a resident of Industry her entire married life.  Ann enjoyed nothing more than being surrounded by loved ones.  She always welcomed everyone with open arms and was accepting of all.  Her strudels, pies, pork roast, and chicken and dumplings were the centerpiece of many happy family dinners on Hillcrest Drive.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Begg in 2005, her twin sister, Theresa Dren, an older sister, Zora Vindischman, an infant brother, Frank, her son-in-law, Frank Critelli, and a niece, Helen, and a nephew, Larry.

She will be greatly missed by four children: Cathy (Michael) Maricone with whom she resided the past 4 years, a son, John (Marilyn) Begg of Pahoa, Hawaii; Susan Critelli, Canyon Lake, California, Lori (Jim) Kuhn of Brighton Twp., seven grandchildren: Christopher (Elbra) Mammone, Palo Alto, CA, Lauren (Natalie) Mammone, Robinson Twp., Mark Mammone, Studio City, CA, Mackenzie (Justin) Fleischman, Chippewa, Matthew Maricone, Millvale, Audra Begg, Charlotte, NC, Trevor Kuhn, Erie, and four great grandchildren: Isabella Ann Mammone, Brody Ellis, and Ramsin and Natalia Mammone.  She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Ave., Midland.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 AM at St. Blaise Church by her pastor, Father Michael Yaksick.  Interment will follow at the Beaver Cemetery.  Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.

The family would like to thank caregivers Joyce Tindall and the ladies of Vitas Hospice, Amy, Stephanie, and Lori, as well as those dear relatives, friends and neighbors that offered help and most importantly prayer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ann’s name to the St. Blaise Parish, Ohio Ave., Midland, PA 15059.
