Ann K. Niemann, 76, of Beaver, passed away on December 4, 2023, with her family by her side.
Born March 5, 1947 in Erie, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Agnes Peterson. She graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Interior Design. It was at Purdue that she met the love of her life, Ed, and their life together began. They lived in multiple states, before landing in Downingtown, PA in 1980, where they raised kids Jen and Joel. She worked multiple jobs, but especially loved her time framing artwork at Studio 3 and her volunteer work with Art Goes to School. In 1995 Ann and Ed moved to their current hometown of Beaver, PA, where she was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church, along with Beaver Book and Play, AAUW Book Group, Tusca Ridge Garden Club, Piecemakers Quilt Guild, Christian Bible Study, and Front Porch Bible Study.
Ann was an artist in every way imaginable. In addition to using her degree in Interior Design, she enjoyed painting, gardening, sewing and quilting. She could turn a random bunch of flowers into a beautiful arrangement, create the most exquisite meringue swirls on a pie, or turn scraps of fabric into Barbie clothes. Ann’s artful eye was matched only by her quick wit and generous heart. Her parenting extended beyond her biological children to anyone who needed a mom’s hug, some cookies, or an encouraging word (usually in the form of a beautiful card). Ann was the backbone of most organizations with which she was involved, and the very heartbeat of her family. Her devout faith, humility, and fierce loyalty to her loved ones will live on through everyone whose lives she touched. Above all, she loved being a Grammy, and she adored being Ed’s travel buddy, co-conspirator and best friend.
Along with her parents, Ann was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Christina and Julia.
Ann will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 54 years Ed Niemann; son, Joel (Kate) Niemann of Bellefonte, PA; daughter, Jen (Rich) Cockerill of Lakeville, MN; brother Craig (Alexis) Peterson of Erie PA; sister, Kristi (Steve) Chapman of Portage MI; grandchildren, Riley, Tessa, Jacob, Joshua and Cameron.
Friends will be received Friday, December 8, 2023, from 2 PM until 4 PM and 6 PM until 8 PM. in the Noll Funeral Home Inc, 333 Third Street Beaver. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 252 College Ave., Beaver. Interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences may be shared at www.nollfuneral.com.
In Lieu of flowers the family would request you plant a flower in Ann’s honor.
