Anne Petroski Zelonis, 97, San Diego, CA, formerly a longtime resident of Beaver, passed away peacefully at the home of her loving son, Paul, Tuesday, September 29, 2015.
Born April 7, 1918 in Jackson, MI, she was one of five children of the late Frank (Petravicius) and Mary (Ravutskis) Petroski. Anne worked as a welder during WWII and had waitressed at the former Didio’s Restaurant in Rochester for 20 years. However, her real joy was raising her three sons, Paul, Joseph, and David. After suffering a stroke 13 years ago, she moved to San Diego to reside with Paul’s family, living many happy, active years surrounded by her grandchildren and recently, her great-grandchild. She also found great peace in her Catholic faith.
Beside her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her husband, John Zelonis and two sons, Joseph and David Zelonis.
She is survived by her son, Paul, 3 grandchildren, Josh Zelonis, Dr. Beth (Darren) Zelonis-Shou, and Dr. Sarah Zelonis, a great-granddaughter, Caroline Shou, and caring nephews and a niece.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Robert Miller at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Beaver, Friday, November 6, 2015, 10:30 am. Interment will follow at St. Casimir Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Noll Funeral Home, Inc. 333 Third St., Beaver.
