Anne Pursley

Anne “Clock” Pursley, 80, of Patterson Heights passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospice – Heritage Valley, Beaver.

Born April 2, 1935 in Washington, D. C., she was the daughter of the late Henry Watkins and Eliza Clopton Anderson, and had resided in Patterson Heights since 1959. Formerly attending Hollins University in Virginia, Anne graduated from Geneva College in 1974, where she remained active with numerous alumni associations affiliated with both schools. She retired as the Director of Social Services for the Beaver County Office of Aging, was a member of AlAnon and the AAUW, and a local spokesperson for the National Alliance of Mental Illness. Anne was a faithful member of Trinity Anglican Church, Beaver.

Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Warren Pursley in 2012 and a daughter, Eliza Northrop Beale in 2009.

Surviving Anne is a daughter, Kathy Northrop, M.D. (Joseph) Porder, Manhattan, NY, one son, William “Butch” (Lisabeth) Northrop, McMurray, a brother, Henry “Gish” (Gay) Anderson, North Carolina, five grandchildren, Sarah Pinckney Northrop Porder, Daniel Clopton Porder, Alison (Alex) Northrop Wilson, Theodore Havness (Julia) Northrop, and James Anderson Northrop, along with two great-granddaughters, Josephine Anne and Eliza Grace Northrop.

Friends will be received for a memorial visitation Friday from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. A memorial service will be conducted by Fr. Scott Homer, Saturday, October 31, 2015, at 11:00 am at Trinity Anglican Church, Beaver. Interment will follow at the Trinity Anglican Church Columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Anne’s name to the Brain Bank of Pittsburgh, Biomedical Science Tower W1654, 3811 O’Hara Street, Pittsburgh, PA, 15213 or Trinity Anglican Church, 370 Beaver Street, Beaver, PA, 15009.
