Arthur H. Castelli, 95, of Midland, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2019.
Born on July 14, 1923, in Midland, to the late Mike and Lucy Castelli,, Arthur was a faithful member of St Blaise Parish, and the St. Anthony Club of Midland. He was a veteran of the U.S Navy, having served in World War II. Up until he was 91 years old, Arthur enjoyed going to the YMCA, shooting hoops, exercising, or socializing. He also took pride in his garden and loved sharing his home grown garlic with his neighbors and friends. Family was everything to Arthur, he especially adored his grandchildren. He also lived and breathed his beloved town of Midland and will be missed by all who knew him.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Therna DeFrancis, and Emma Strano; two brothers, Charles and William Castelli.
Arthur will be sadly missed by his wife of 69 years, Rosemarie Mosticone Castelli; two daughters, Cathy (Ben) Monach of Midland, and Mary Sue (Ben) Mauch of Brighton Township; a son, Arthur (Holly) Castelli of Ohioville; one brother, Harry Castelli of Kansas; grandchildren, Cheryl (Scott) Antoline, Thomas (Anna) Toplak, Lainey (Eric) Phillips, Gregory (Caroline) Toplak, Carley (Dave) Brandon, and Casey (Andy) Theobald; great-grandchildren, Allison and Natalie Antoline, Camila Toplak, and Beau Theobald; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday January 21, 2019 from 2p-4p and 6p-8p in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Avenue, Midland Pa 15059. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted on Tuesday January 22,2019 in St. Blaise Parish, 772 Ohio Avenue, Midland Pa 15059 at 10:30am officiated by Father John Naugle. Inurnment in Beaver Cemetery will take place at a later date.
