Arthur William Foster

d. July 15, 2024

Arthur William Foster, age 70, of Industry, PA, died on July 15, 2024 at Allegheny General Hospital. Arthur was born on January 7, 1954 in Rochester, PA to Russell M. and Wanda E. Foster. He began his working life at Westinghouse Beaver in their shipping department, briefly having worked for Safeway Cab Co., transporting railroad workers through Pennsylvania and New York, spending the remainder of his working years at North Star Steel, later V&M Steel, as a ladle man in Youngstown, Ohio. A great deal of Art’s youth was spent hanging out with friends, going to movies, and lifting weights. Art and his friend Wayne could often be found in the weight room at the VFW in Baden. His strength and affinity for wrestling prompted a short stint in the local amateur wrestling circuit. His ring introduction, “Hailing from parts unknown!”, would later serve as an indicator that he was getting ready to wrestle with the kids of the family. Art spent much of his free time either hunting or preparing for the hunt; Procuring bales of hay from the nearby Amish communities and placing them at the edge of the woods in the back yard, spending hours honing his archery skills. Any shots resulting in “telescoping” or a “Robin Hood”, where an arrow is shot into the shaft of a previously shot arrow, would be saved to show off to his friend and fellow archer, Ray. Art’s vast knowledge of firearms solidified his place as a “go to” resource for friends and family when they had any questions about guns. If he was stumped, which was rare, he would defer to his counterpart saying, “I’ll have to call Teddy. He would know.”. In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his son, Brian P. Foster, and his sister, Kathleen Reese. He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly M. Foster; two sons, Russell V. and Adam M. Foster; his granddaughter, Ashley Thumm; brother, William H. Foster; brother-in-law Paul Klepal; sister-in-law Karen Murphy; nephews William Foster (Jennifer), Phillip Klepal (Stacy), and Paul Klepal (Sara), and David Murphy, Jr. (Allison); nieces Serena Thomas (Jason), Kathleen Foster, Pamelyn Stefman (Drew), Paige Curry (Rick), Patrice Morris, and Brie Ann Griffin (Jermaine); and many close, lifelong friends, including George Peters, Ray Hoffman, Victor Ciccozi, Ted Beer, Chris Hertzig, Lenny Possage, and Nate Smith.ter A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024 from 3 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com. Casual dress and the wearing of camouflage, Harley Davidson, hunting, or gun shirts is strongly encouraged. If you must wear a tie, make it a “clip on” in honor of Art. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Arthur’s name, may be made to the Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Road, Aliquippa, PA 15001.
