Midland

With profound sadness, our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Beatrice Schulte, 81, of Midland, PA, who passed away at Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford, PA, on April 8, 2026 following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Born September 25, 1944, in East Liverpool, OH, daughter of the late Walter Marciniak and Blanche Albinski Marciniak. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart and loving husband, Martin V. Schulte, Sr., who died in 2023, and her beloved son, David, who died in 2025.

Bea leaves behind her beloved children, Matthew (Kelley), Jean (Brian), and Martin, Jr. (Sue) and daughter-in-law, Yuqun. Treasured grandchildren Colin, Hayden, Emily, Lucy, Zehao, and Halina. She also leaves members of the Schulte family, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Bea was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Midland, and the University of Pittsburgh in 1984, with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

Bea lived a full, productive, and loving life. Bea was long noted for her quirky sense of cutting to the crux of the matter, which caused much amusement in the family, as well as for her beauty, creativity, and independence.

Bea had a flair for artistry and was a painter, Penn State master gardener, seamstress, she loved to cook and bake with her children and grandchildren, and her delights will be fondly remembered by those with whom she shared. When Bea retired, she enjoyed investing her energies into her flower gardens and landscape. Her yard was the envy of the neighborhood. Many visited her yard to admire its beauty.

Bea was especially proud of her work while in high school on the mosaic behind the altar at St. Blaise Roman Catholic Parish Church, Midland, PA.

Bea was an avid reader of both novels and scientific literature. She kept herself informed about current affairs and shared her wisdom with her beloved children and grandchildren whom she adored and doted upon.

Bea held positions with various firms as a mechanical engineer, then entered a period of decades of community service wherein she was a former member of the Midland Borough School District Board of Directors, Chairperson Beaver County Commissioners, member of the Midland Planning Commission and participated in other various community and civic groups.

During her tenure as a County Commissioner, Bea was instrumental in initiating the construction of a new county building and a new county jail. She worked tirelessly to put Beaver County First.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford, PA for the kindness and care given to Bea.

The family has entrusted Noll Funeral Home, Beaver, PA with a private family service. Inurnment will follow in the Beaver Cemetery. A gathering for friends and family to honor our mom will be held at a later date, in accordance with her wishes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bea’s memory to the Carnegie Free Library, 61 9th St, Midland, PA 15059, or do as Bea did and enjoy some peace and quiet with a good book and a cup of coffee, or take a walk outside in the sunshine and enjoy the springtime flowers.
