Carl “Benny” L. Martell, 96, passed away on September 7, 2026.
Born on September 5, 1930, in Ohioville, he was the son of the late Carl and Mary Martell.
Benny began his education at the Ohioville Farm School and later graduated from Midland High School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having honorably served during the Korean War while stationed in Japan. Following his military service, he dedicated many years of hard work to Crucible Steel as a hot mill roller, and later contributed his time to GNC Security.
An avid hunter and outdoorsman, Benny’s hunting took him across North America, tracking game through Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Colorado, Wyoming, Alaska, and British Columbia. He was an accomplished sportsman who dedicated much of his time to trap, pistol, and archery shooting.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Martell; brothers, Joseph (Thelma) Martell and Richard (Charlene) (Marion) Martell; sister, Mary June Martell (Adams); brother-in-law, Kenneth Adams; and nephew, Rick Martell.
Benny will be greatly missed by his nephew, Jeff (Stacey) Adams; and nieces, Denise (Rick) Turyan and Debra (Larry) Langford.
