Carmel1a “Carmy” Toplak, 84, of East Palestine, OH, formerly of Ohioville, passed away unexpectedly August 15, 2016.

Born August 7, 1932 in East Liverpool, OH, she was a daughter of the late Alfonso and Elizabeth Liberatore Antonelli. Carmella lived in Ohioville most of her life, and will be remembered as a devoted homemaker and loving mother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Toplak in 2007 and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Vucina.

Carmella is survived by her son, Gary Toplak, Waverly, OH, one daughter, Cindy Rice, New Springfield, OH, a brother-in-law whom she helped raise, Tom Toplak; five grandchildren, Autumn (Tom) Altieri, Plum Boro, Chelsea Toplak, Brighton Township, Jessica (Aqui) Rice-Bryant, Shallotte, NC, Robert Rice, New Springfield, OH, and Julia (Darryl) Miller, Petersburg, OH; three great-grandchildren, Archer Toplak, and Frankie and Mia Alteri; and two sisters, Marilyn Adkins, Midland and Peggy Curry, Denver, CO.

Friends will be received Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday, August 19, 2016 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Avenue, Midland. Interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery, Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.
