Carrie E. Moore

Carrie Ellen Moore, 84, passed away in her Center Twp. home, Friday, October 13, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Born January 20, 1933 in Bishop, VA, she was the daughter of the late Vance and Gladys Blevins Joines.  A 1951 graduate of New Brighton High School, she lived most of her life in Center Twp.  She worked for many years in her mother’s Beaver Falls business, Joines Telephone Answering and Radio Communications, and later for Personal Communications.   While residing in Tampa, Fl. for 10 years, she worked with her daughter at Travel Connections.  She had been involved in the Beaver County chapters of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, was an avid collector of Snoopy memorabilia, enjoyed her Pittsburgh and Tampa sports teams, and was a strong advocate of animal rights and causes.

In addition to her parents, Carrie Ellen was preceded in death by her former husband, Donald B. Moore in 2009.

She will be greatly missed by her two sons, Tim Alan (Patricia) Moore, and Tedd Arlan Moore, all of Center Twp.; one daughter, Tracy Ann George, Tampa, FL; one sister, Ethel Lorraine Joines, Sewickley; one brother, James Franklin (Joyce) Joines, Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Alan Moore, Washington, D.C., Eric (Melissa) Moore, Moon Twp., and Joshua “Mitch” George, Tampa, FL; along with many nieces and nephews.

As per Carrie Ellen’s wishes, all services were private. Her ashes, along with those of her beloved beagle, Baxter, will be scattered in the mountains of Wilkes County, North Carolina.

The family wishes to thank the staffs of Heritage Valley, Beaver Elder Care, and Good Samaritan Hospice for the compassion they showed her while in their care.
