Charles A. Brewer

Charles A. Brewer, 87, of Vanport, formerly of Brighton Township passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley, Beaver.

Born December 16, 1928 in Rochester, he was a son of the late Charles S. and Alice Montgomery Brewer. Charles is an alumnus of Rochester High School and Geneva College. He proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War where he received a Purple Heart. Upon his return to the area, Charles had lived in Brighton Township for 54 years before taking up residence in Vanport for the last 4. He worked as an accountant at several companies throughout his career, retiring from the Homer Laughlin Company, Newell, WV. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Rochester, and a past president and treasurer of the Brighton Township Lions Club. Charles will be most lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Rosella C. Simpson Brewer, with whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on September 15, 2016; two daughters, Sharon Lacey, Wilmington, NC, and Maryalice (Rex) Reppert, Beaver; four grandchildren, Ben (April Hartman) Reppert, Jennifer (Travis) Kent, Caitlin (Chad Shipley) Reppert, and Laurie Lacey; three great-grandchildren, Emery and Tristan Kent, and Ella Rose Shipley; and a favorite cousin, Nancy (John) Eaken, Rochester; and one niece, Robin L. (Cory) Brennan, Delaware.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his son, Charles W. Brewer in 1983, and two brothers, Paul and Robert E. Brewer.

Friends will be received Friday, September 2, 2016 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm and 6:00 until 8:00 pm in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver, where a service, conducted by his pastor, Reverend Gregory Clagg, will take place Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11:00 am. A private interment will follow at Beaver Cemetery, Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.

Memorial contributions in Charles’ name may be made to the Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Road, Aliquippa, PA 15001. Charles loved animals, especially dogs, and often donated food to the humane society.
