Charles “Bugsy” Cirelli, 94, of Ohioville, entered into the arms of Jesus on August 26, 2016, to join his beloved wife.
Born January 14, 1922, in Youngstown, Ohio, he lived a full life after coming to Midland in 1942 when he began working at Crucible Steel Co. He married Agnes Coratto Cirelli on April 5, 1942 and set up residence in Midland. He lived in Midland until 1968 then moved to Ohioville where he spent the rest of his remaining years. When he retired from Crucible, he began working with his son, Randy, doing various jobs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes, in 2011; his father and mother, Charles and Jenny Cirelli; two brothers, Pat and Joseph, and two sisters, Michelina Marino and Antoinette Elia Adams.
Surviving are two sons, Charles (Ruth) Cirelli, Ohioville; Randy (Beverly) Cirelli, Beaver; two daughters, Claudette (Richard) LaMantia, Midland, and Patricia (Rev. David) Frank, Erie; seven cherished grandchildren, Tamera (Keith) Burke, Ohioville; Charles (June) Cirelli, Denver, CO; Cristen (Reverend Will) Bridges, Chester, WV; David (Kristen) Frank, Philadelphia; Steven (Erica) Frank, Erie, and Jared and Caleb Cirelli, Beaver, and 11 cherished great-grandchildren, Alexus and Hunter Burke, Moriah and Danial Bridges, Kya and Zander Irish, Katie, Addie, Audra, D.J. and Chase Frank.
Charles was a lifelong member of the Christian Assembly Church in Ohioville where he was a board member for years before retiring. He enjoyed every sport and while employed at Crucible Steel, he played on their softball league. He would listen and watch more than one game at a time. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play tennis, football, baseball and basketball.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in the Christian Assembly Church, 6241 Tuscarawas Rd., Ohioville. Pastor Bill Anzevino, his pastor and friend, will officiate. A private interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery.
