Charles D. Rogers, 87, of Vanport Township passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley, Beaver, surrounded by his loving family.
Born January 6, 1929 in West Virginia, he was a son of the late Dorsey and Lena Rogers. Residing in Vanport for over 30 years, he had formerly worked as a prescription delivery driver for Beaver Health Mart after retiring from the Roll Shop at J & L Steel, Aliquippa. He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Air Force, having served as a Sergeant during the Korean War and was active in the Baden American Legion and Hopewell VFW.
Surviving Charles is his beloved wife of 34 years, Claire Sweeney Rogers, three daughters, Debbie (Richard) Cervi, Deer Park, TX, Michele (Bill) Wright, Ambridge and Debbie ( Don) Ball, New Brighton, two sons, Michael (Marcia) Rogers, Brighton Township, and William (Dolores) Gray, Georgetown, PA, along with twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a sister Evelyn Burnett, his daughter, Kathy Jones, and three grandsons, Brian Hilliard, Daniel Ball, and William Gray.
Friends will be received Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 2:00 pm until time of service at 5:00 pm in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. Charles’ pastor Reverend Donald MacNeil will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
