Charles S. Engelman, Sr.

Charles S. Engelman, Sr., 82, of Brighton Twp., passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, March 28, 2019.

Born October 12, 1936 in Rochester, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary Engelman. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Charles went on to work at Valvoline Oil for 32 years before his retirement from the electrical maintenance department. He was a faithful member of the Ohioville Free Methodist Church, and of the F & AM #457 St. James Lodge and Brighton Township Volunteer Fire Department. In his spare time, Charles was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially loved to share God’s outdoor creations with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Charles will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 63 years, Ruth Dotson Engelman, Brighton Twp.; his son, Charles (Charyl) Engelman, Jr., Grass Flat, PA; daughters, Deborah (Ronald) Smith, Ohioville, and Karen (James) Potts, Brighton Twp.; one brother, Lowell (Becky) Engelman, Monaca; sister, Carole (William) Smith, VA; nine grandchildren, Kristen (David) Read, Gary (Emily) Morgan, Jr., James Potts, Jr., Brittany (Michael) Gathagan, Jason Potts, Charles S. Engelman, III, and Ramsey, Simon, and Vivian Potts; along with four great-grandchildren, Zachary and Jacob Landis, Carly May Gathagan, and Kendra Morgan.

Friends will be received Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 2 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. Interment will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
