Charles A. Leis

Charles Andrew Leis, 85, of Beaver passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019. Born September 11, 1934 in Rochester, he was a son of the late Charles and Christena Steffler Leis. A resident of Beaver all his life, Charles left the area to serve proudly in the U. S. Navy on the destroyer USS Tidewater during the Korean War. Upon his return, he retired from a long career as an inventory clerk with J & L Steel, Aliquippa, in 1985, and was an active member and Deacon with the First Christian Church, Beaver. Charles could always be found golfing in his spare time. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elli T. Knallay Leis in October, 2014; and his brother, Lawrence Leis. He will be greatly missed by his sons, David (Cathy) Leis, Fallston, and Daniel (Jane) Leis, Brighton Twp.; grandchildren, Christena (Chris) Plummer, Charlie (Jennifer) Leis, Andrew Leis, and Daniel Leis; along with four great-grandchildren, Ellie and Sarah Plummer, and Cameron and Cecelia Leis. Friends will be received Friday, December 13, 2019 from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. A private interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery.
