Charles M. “Chad” Weimer, 66, of Harleysville, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband to Constance “Connie” (Baker) Weimer.
Born May 11, 1957, in New Brighton, PA, he was a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (McLaren) Weimer.
Growing up, Chad traveled extensively with his family, visiting most of the United States and camping in many National Parks. He was a talented high school and college athlete, competing in various track and field events. His love for the outdoors and sports continued all through his life. He was a dedicated Penn State Football and Steelers fan, attending numerous games each season with family and friends at Beaver Stadium. He spent countless hours on the water as an avid fly fisherman, always eager for that next chance to catch a fish, often with Connie by his side. From May through September, Chad started nearly every weekend morning with the sunrise on the water of Lake Wallenpaupack, slalom waterskiing behind the Ski Nautique. He was always the go-to boat driver, whether teaching family and friends how to waterski or cruising the lake.
His love and passion for Red River was no secret. Anyone who would listen, he talked about every detail and was an ambassador for sharing a place he cared about with others.
Chad had over 40 years of working in human resources, and most recently, was the Director of Human Resources for CETRA Language Solutions. He continued to work throughout his treatments. Chad was a member of The Presbyterian Church Of Chestnut Hill and the Creamton Fly Fishing Club and enjoyed serving the Sunny Point community as President and Board Member.
Chad was an all-around good guy, always there for others and optimistic about everything in life. We were all lucky to have him in our lives. In addition to his loving wife of 42 years, he is survived by his son Reed Baker Weimer of Red River, NM; his brother and sister-in-law, William II and Barbara Weimer of Monaca, PA; brother-in-law, Craig (Kathie) Baker of South Beaver Township, PA; sister-in-law, Christine (Dana) Varney of Beaver, PA; and several nieces, nephews, and their families.
He was predeceased by his son, Jacob Baker Weimer, and his sister, Nancy Weimer.
