Christine A. Ochtun

Christine A. Ochtun, 69, of Seven Fields, formerly of O’Hara Twp., passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Shadyside Hospital.

Born November 10, 1948 in Manhattan, NY, she was a daughter of the late Karl and Adelaide Henkel. Christine’s love of dance led her to the High School of Performing Arts, where she trained in ballet, graduating in 1966. A multi-faceted artist, she pursued a television career where she became an Emmy Award winning editor, and later, a producer with WQED, Pittsburgh. Christine worked the last nine years as a teacher’s aide with the Seneca Valley School District.

Christine will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of nearly 42 years, James Ochtun, Seven Fields; her son, Christopher (Sarah) Ochtun, Brighton Twp.; daughter, Hope Ochtun, Manhattan, NY; one brother, Karl (Theresa) Henkel, NY; a sister, Adelaide Henkel, Manhattan, NY; and two grandsons, Aiden and Emerson Ochtun, Brighton Twp.

Friends will be received Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver where a Blessing Service will be conducted by Fr. Robert Miller, Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Christine’s name be made to Saints Peter and Paul School, 370 East End Avenue, Beaver, PA 15009. Please indicate on memo line, “In memory of Christine Ochtun.”
