Claire Adell Rogers, 81, of Vanport Township, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016, at her son’s home, surrounded by her family.

Born November 23, 1934 in Jackson Township, Greene County, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Olive Kerr Sweeney. Claire worked as a nurse’s aide before retiring from the Beaver Valley Geriatric Center, Brighton Township, worked at St. Joe Lead, and then moved onto Walmart, Monaca, where she worked for 10 years.

In addition to her parents, Claire was preceded in death by her first husband, William E. Gray in 1981, a daughter, Elaine Kay Gray, one sister, Saranell Moore, three brothers, Alan and Donald Sweeney, and Ossie Wildman, two grandsons, William E. Gray and Daniel E. Ball, and most recently, her second husband of 34 years, Charles D. Rogers on February 11, 2016.

Surviving Claire are her children; William (Dolores) Gray, Georgetown, Debbie (Don) Ball, New Brighton; three stepchildren Debbie (Richard) Cervi, TX, Michele (Bill) Wright, Ambridge, and Michael (Marcia) Rogers, Brighton Township; one sister, Mary Sweeney Berdine, Beaver, a special niece, Martha Steiner, Vanport Township, and 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 4 pm until 7 pm when visitation will conclude with prayers by Claire’s pastor, Reverend Donald MacNeil in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. Interment will take place at a later date at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
