Clara E. Shaw

On August 5, 2023, Clara E. Shaw, loving mother and grandmother, was called home and joined her husband and family in heaven.

While we grieve her loss here on earth, we are comforted knowing that she is reunited with her family; her parents, Reverend David L. and E. Leola Hamilton; husband Edward S. Shaw; brother Paul Hamilton; sister Jane Culley; sons James R. and Donald D. Shaw.

Her daughter Joyce A. Shaw Dobrowski (Stan), survives her as well as daughters in law Margie, Hazel, and Jill Shaw, all residents of Beaver County, PA, and stepson Michael Shaw of Texas.

Clara had 8 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was born in New Brighton, PA and lived the majority of her life in Ohioville/Midland where she owned and operated a beauty salon for many years, cutting and styling hair for generations of friends and family who all adored her and her little country beauty salon. Later in life, Clara became a CT and worked for many years at Heritage Valley Hospital in Beaver, PA. She had a heart of gold and treated all of her patients like family.

Clara was a member of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church and enjoyed helping wherever she was needed.

Those who knew her will fondly remember her love of sunbathing, beach vacations with her family, animals, helping others and spending time with her family and friends. Clara was a selfless soul who was loved by all who met her.

A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Clara’s memory can be made to the Hookstown Free Methodist Church located at 255 Main St., Hookstown, PA 15050.
