David W. Gorrell

August 10, 1941 — January 29, 2017

David W. Gorrell, 75, of Brighton Township, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Heritage Valley, Beaver with his wife and daughter at his side.

Born August 10, 1941 in Beaver Falls, he was a son of the late Omar and Evelyn (Kissinger) Gorrell and had been a resident of Brighton Township for over 4 decades, graduating from Beaver Area High School in 1959.    For 46 years, he was a hardworking construction laborer with Local #833, New Brighton.  David was a proud member of the NRA, he loved the Steelers, Westerns, and crossword puzzles, and was active with the Class of 1959 Reunion Committee.  He was a faithful member of Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Beaver.

David will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 40 years, Virginia “Jenny” Gorrell; his devoted daughter, Kelly Gorrell Harvey, New Brighton; two sons; one sister, Kathleen (Bill Mullenax) Dean, New Brighton; three grandchildren; his best friend Frank Justice, Ohioville, and faithful companion, his dog Casey.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his infant brother Michael.

Friends will be received Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Robert Miller Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Beaver.  Interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery, Beaver.  Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.

To honor David’s love of animals, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Road, Aliquippa, PA 15001.
