Dolores Toncic

February 15, 1932 — October 10, 2016

Dolores “Dee” Toncic, our beautiful wife and mother, passed away on October 10, 2016 at Allegheny General Hospital with her children by her side.

Dee was the beloved daughter born to Vincent and Angeline (DiPlacida) Gentile and proudly resided in Midland her entire life. Dee will be remembered for many things including her sense of style and grace reflected in her daily dress and demeanor. Dee was a fiercely devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, and sister, who gave so lovingly to her family. She created a beautiful home on the hill in Midland that was a haven of comfort and warmth for all of her family and friends. Most importantly, Dee maintained a deep and close relationship with Jesus Christ and firmly believed in the power of prayer and God’s love.

Dee was a 1950 graduate of Midland’s Lincoln High School where she was voted May Queen by her classmates. She belonged to St. Blaise Parish her entire life and was instrumental with creating the Bereavement Support Group with her pastor, the late Rev. Dennis Bradley.

Dee will be deeply missed by her husband of 20 years, Andrew Toncic, and her children; John and Lisa Kane of Raccoon Township, Vincent and Daniette “Dee” Kane of Beaver, Andrew Toncic, Grove City, and Connie and Tom Kampian, Midland; along with her grandchildren, Tabatha Kearney, Monassas, VA, John Kearney, Center Township, and Michael Kearney, Morgantown, WV. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Bertha Giordano, Ambridge, Jeannette (Tom) Gimbus, Ohioville, and Margaret Kovalesky, Waterford, MI; her brother Vincent (Elizabeth) Gentile, Brighton Township, and dear brother-in-law Ronald (Bonnie) Kane, South Lyon, MI, along with numerous nieces and nephews in the Gentile, Kane, and Toncic Families.

Besides her parents, Dee was preceded in death by her first husband, John E. Kane in 1991, sisters, Nancy Passa and Eleanor Ward, and her daughter, Regina Toncic.

Dee’s family will receive friends at the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, located on 600 Beaver Avenue in Midland, on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 2 pm until 4 pm and 6 pm until 8 pm, and prior to mass from 9 am until 10 am. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, October 14, 2016, at 10:30 am at St. Blaise Parish, located on Penn Avenue in Midland. The mass will be officiated by her pastor, Rev. Michael Yasick, who will be assisted by her nephew, Deacon Anthony Giordano. Dee will be laid to rest next to her first husband in Beaver Cemetery, Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.

Dee’s family extends their sincere gratitude to Dr. Annmarie Ray, Dr. William Ferri, Dr. Srinivias Murali, and the team at the Allegheny Health System Cardio Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic. We give thanks to this amazing woman for her sweet, caring, and thoughtful approach to life. We will be forever inspired by her courage, for she never gave up and fought like no one else.

If desired, donations may be made in Dee’s memory to Saint Blaise Parish, Midland or the Patient Access Foundation (www.panfoundation.org), or a random act of kindness extended to another person to honor her generous spirit.
