Donald (Chuck) Scarsella, 97, of Midland, passed away on August 2, 2017.
Born on October 17, 1919, he was the son of the late Dominick and Angeline (Coppola) Scarsella. Donald retired from Crucible Steel and Colt Industries in 1980 after 45 years. Donald was a charter member for the past 69 years of Midlands Sportsman Club where he was recently honored for being the oldest living member. He was an avid hunter and proud maker of flint lock rifles. Donald raised hunting dogs throughout his life.
Donald will be greatly missed by his wife of 75 years, Mary Bottiglieri Scarsella; two sons, Donald (Margaret) Scarsella Jr. of Baden, Pa, David (Janice) Scarsella of East Liverpool, OH; two daughters, Carol Flowers of Hickory, N.C, Marilyn Zimmerman, of Las Vegas, NV; twelve grandchildren, Don Scarsella, Melinda Ferrero, David Flowers, John “Louis” Flowers, Marie Jane, Kenneth Flowers, Norma Flowers, Rex Flowers, David Scarsella Jr, Matthew Scarsella, Timothy Stewart, and Amy Baxter; 21 great-grandchildren; Don, Ashley, Nicole, Sara, Caroline, Katherine, Dominic, Kristen, Tiffany, Brandy, Carol, Skyla, Derek, Alexus, Austin, Brad, Hannah, Rebecca, ToniLynn, Taylor and Raegan 3 great-great grandsons., Logan, Bentley and Austin.
He is preceded in death by three sisters; Mafalda Fattore, Antoinette (Ando) August, Marion (Mimi) Tonda and two brothers; Emeric Scarsella, Louis Scarsella and Grandson John Scarsella.
Friends will be received on Sunday August 6th, 2017 from 4pm-8pm in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home 600 Beaver Avenue, Midland PA 15059 where a blessing service will be held on Monday August 7th, 2017 at 10:00am.
