Dorothy Ohorodnyk

Dorothy Ohorodnyk, 67, of Brighton Township passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley, Beaver, with her family by her side.

Born July 26, 1948 in Germany, she was a daughter of Andrew and Anna Tychostup Charko of Ambridge. Dorothy resided in Brighton Township for 43 years, working as a secretary with Gulf Oil in Pittsburgh, and for 20 years as a unit clerk at Heritage Valley Health System, Sewickley. She was also a former member of the Beaver Welcome Wagon, and had spent time as a child care volunteer for MOPs at First Presbyterian Church, Beaver and for Community Bible Study.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, John T. Ohorodnyk, Brighton Township; one son, John A. (Carrie) Ohorodnyk, Pulaski; a daughter, Julie ( Brian) Wilson, Brighton Township; three brothers, Bill (Sandy) Charko, Economy, Mike (Kathy) Charko, Cusick, WA, and John (Julie) Charko, Ambridge; four grandchildren, Jacob, Cody, and Evan Wilson, Brighton Township, and Reese Ohorodnyk, Pulaski; her mother-in-law, Anastasia Ohorodnyk, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 until 8:00 pm in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. A funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Henry Knapp Monday, July 18, 2016 at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church, Beaver, with interment following at Beaver Cemetery, Beaver.
