Dorothy F. Thorne

Dorothy Frances Thorne, 88, of Industry passed away Sunday morning, 7, 2016 at Beaver Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center, Beaver Falls.

She was born October 19, 1927 in Ambridge to the late Andrew and Anna Slivka Vavrek. Dorothy enjoyed a career for 18 years as a home consultant with Stanley Home Products. She took great joy in her career in sales as well as her family and friends. Her generosity was known by many, to her no one was a stranger.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Thorne in 1993, three brothers, John, Michael, and George Nemchik, and two sisters, Anna Walko and Irene Surowiec.

Dorothy is survived by one son, Charles (Louise) Thorne, Columbiana, Ohio, two daughters, Frances (Robert) Holibaugh, Pittsburgh, and Gloria (Neal) Chapman, New York, one sister, Marie Walton, seven grandchildren, Tonia, Charles, Adam, Jason, Richard, Jennifer, and Amy, thirteen great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Friends will be received Wednesday August 10, 2016 from 6-8 pm and Thursday August 11, 2016 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc.,333 Third Street, Beaver.
