Beaver

"When they arrive at the gates of death, God welcomes those who love him.” Ps 116:15 Msg.

Duane Swaney, 78, of Beaver, was welcomed into eternal peace in his Savior’s arms on Saturday, April 4, 2026, following an extended illness. Duane passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family. He leaves behind not only a legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion to the Lord, but also a lifetime of laughter, warmth, and unforgettable memories.

Born January 25, 1948, in Rochester and raised in Hookstown, he was the son of the late Hall and Geraldine Swaney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Swaney.

Duane proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Navy and went on to have a long career as a Journeyman Electrician with IBEW LU 712. He was a faithful attendee of Northway Christian Community, Beaver Valley.

More than anything, Duane was a family man. He had a great sense of humor and a way of making those around him laugh, even in the simplest moments. His jokes, stories, and playful spirit will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. He found his greatest joy in being with his family, and he made sure they always knew how much they meant to him.

Duane will be deeply missed by his wife of 43 and a half years, Linda Swaney of Beaver; his son, Jason Latchaw of Brighton Township; his daughter, Lori (JD) Tharp of Beaver; and the pride of his life, his grandchildren, Madison, Jocelyn Latchaw, Gavin Swaney-Latchaw, and Isaac and Ella Tharp. Each of them carries forward his love, his laughter, and his spirit.

Friends will be received Friday, April 10, 2026, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver.
