Edith "Edie" Hilkka Nichols

December 10, 1952 — November 28, 2025

Brighton Twp.

Edith “Edie” Hilkka Nichols, 72, of Brighton Twp., passed away at home peacefully, surrounded by the family she fiercely loved, on November 28, 2025.

Born December 10, 1952 in the Rochester Hospital, she was a daughter of the late James Roy and Edith Hilkka Forsman Burgess. A resident of Brighton Twp. all her life, Edie will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend. She stood out in a crowd with her crown of blonde hair! Edie had an infectious laugh and a comforting spirit that made everyone around her feel seen and cherished. Her collection of dolls, jewelry and friends reflected her sparkling personality and her gift for welcoming others with genuine love.

As a member of Christian Assembly Church in Industry, she was a faithful prayer warrior, covering her loved ones in prayer, loving kindness and sprinkled in drops of oregano oil as her heartfelt belief was that this trio could overcome anything.

Edie will be greatly missed by her husband of 54-years, James “Jim” Walter Nichols; sons, James (Tonya) Nichols, Jeremiah (Whitney) Nichols, and Daniel (Jenny) Nichols; daughter, Wendy (Jason) Lowe; brothers, William (Christine) Burgess, Joseph (Ann) Burgess, and Raymond (Lorraine) Burgess; along with cherished grandchildren, Luke and Leah Nichols, Gracey, Hunter, and Adeline Nichols, Lydia, Finley, and Ronin Nichols, and Addison and Maysie Lowe.

In addition to her parents, Edie was preceded in death by her daughter, Elina Marja Nichols; granddaughter, Eva Leina Nichols, and brother, David Burgess.

Friends will be received Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m., with a short service starting at 2 p.m., at Christian Assembly Church, 6241 Tuscarawas Rd., Industry. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
