Edna Arlene Johns

Edna “Arlene” Johns, of Beaver, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 7, 2021.

Born July 11, 1934, to Paul and Edna Whitmor Martin, she was a graduate of Freedom High School. Arlene was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She devoted most of her life to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Beaver where she was the church secretary, and for over 40 years, worked at Kiddie Korner Daycare as a cook. Arlene was a Girl Scout Leader and past PTA President. She was very involved with the young people at church and the church choir. Arlene had the most amazing singing voice, beautifully singing praise to God every Sunday, and Silent Night every Christmas Eve. There wasn’t one person Arlene met that she wouldn’t lend an ear or shoulder to cry on. God has welcomed a beautiful soul and voice to His heavenly choir.

Arlene will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 64 years, Harold “Jack” Johns; children, Jennifer Harrison, Kirk (Lorraine) Johns, and Tracy (Todd) Costo; her brother, Bill Martin; sister, Shirley Raddish; grandchildren, Travis Costo, Stephen Ratkovich, Brent Johns, Brent Harrison, April Johns (Aaron) Dorsey, Harlee Johns, and Anthony Johns; along with great-grandson, Luca G. Johns.

In addition to her parents, Arlene was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Martin; sisters, Ruth Anderson, Polly Inge, and Lilly Baxa; infant grandson, Kirk Howard Phelps Johns; and infant granddaughter, Mariah Faith Harrison.

Friends will be received Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. A funeral service will be conducted Monday, December 13, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1098 Third St., Beaver, 15009. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
