Edward P. Smyda

Edward P. Smyda, 64, of Patterson Twp., passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, December 5, 2019.

Born March 11, 1955 in Rochester, he was a son of the late John A. and Elizabeth J. (Pillar) Smyda. Ed will be remembered as a loving brother, father and proud grandfather. He worked as a route salesman for Snyder of Berlin for over 12 years.

Ed will be greatly missed by his sons, Darren (Shalon) Farmer, Chippewa Twp., and Brent Farmer, Industry; a daughter, Natalie (Adam) DuFresne, Brighton Twp.; sister, Bonnie (Smyda) McGeehan and sister-in-law, Helen Smyda, both of Ohioville, and sister-in-law, Janet Petrick, Brighton Twp.; his uncle, Joseph (Jane) Smyda, Beaver; seven grandchildren, Ericka, Dylan, Jakob, Aedan, Ehrin, Madison, and Landon with whom he shared his middle name of Patrick; nephews and a niece, Jeff Smyda and Perry Smyda, both of Ohioville, Jason Porto, Salvatore Porto, and Tracy (Don) Schubert, all of Pittsburgh; along with all of his family and friends who will never forget how special Ed was. His co-workers will remember Ed for his kindness, his great smile, and his wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas J. and John W. “Sonny” Smyda; and a brother-in-law, Thomas J. McGeehan.

Friends will be received during a memorial visitation Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 3 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ed’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
