Eleanor Louise Hales departed this world to join Jesus in Heaven on June 17, 2021 at the age of 84 after an extended illness. She was born at home on November 5, 1936 to Mary and Glen Ferrell of Triadelphia, West Virginia. She leaves behind her wonderful husband, Bob Hales whom she married in November 2007. She was the loving mother to four children: Lee Atkinson of Kingsport, Tennessee, Cathy Leis (David) of Fallston, Pennsylvania, James Atkinson of Salem, Ohio and Jill Mann (Stan) of Beaver, Pennsylvania. She had five grandchildren: Christena Plummer (Christopher), Charles Leis (Jennifer), Jessica Atkinson (Craig Dubois) Christopher Mann (Rosalyn) and Michael Mann. She also had six great grandchildren: Lily Mann, Ellie Plummer, Sarah Plummer, Violet Atkinson, Cameron Leis and Cecelia Leis. She was proceeded in death by her mother and father; as well as her brother, Lloyd Ferrell and her sister, Wanda Snodgrass. She was a beloved member of First Presbyterian Church of Beaver, Pennsylvania where she helped teach Sunday School for many years. She was also involved in the Mothers of Preschoolers program, Community Bible Study and Vacation Bible Schools. She was an avid reader and was always exchanging books with friends in order to have an endless supply. She loved working with children as was evident by her volunteer work at the church. She also loved to go to yard sales and the local thrift stores with her two daughters to search for good bargains. She grew up on a farm in Valley Grove, West Virginia and graduated from Wheeling Park High School where she was a member of the marching band and played the French horn. She also played the pump organ on Sundays at her local church. She held many jobs over the years including bank teller, nursing aide, secretary and preschool teaching assistant; but her first job was a switch operator for the local telephone company. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church, Beaver, conducted by her pastor, Reverend Jeffrey A. Arnold.
