Eleanor "Ellie" M. Mccormick

Eleanor “Ellie” M. McCormick, 87, of Rochester Twp., went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Tuesday, September 25, 2018.

Born June 3, 1931 in Lemont Furnace, she was a daughter of the late John E. and Martha E. Shaffer Newman. A resident of Rochester Twp. since 1967, Ellie was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She had many passions including flower gardening, grooming poodles, listening to country music, and traveling with her family.

Ellie will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 68 years, Ottis M. “Bud” McCormick, Rochester Twp.; three loving and devoted daughters, Judy McCormick, Rochester Twp., Donna (Terence) Hughes,Sr., New Brighton, and Patricia (Mark) Johnson, Beaver Falls; a brother, John E. (Malinda) Newman, Lemont Furnace; one sister, June Lee (John) Manor, Mesa, AZ; three grandchildren, Terence Alan Hughes, Jr., New Brighton, Angela (Mark) Dailey, Rochester Twp., and Patrick Johnson, Beaver Falls; and her brand new great-granddaughter, Isabella Grace Dailey. She will also be sadly missed by her close friend, who Ellie loved like a daughter, Mary Ann Campbell, Monaca and Paul “Butch” Johnson who is a member of the McCormick-Johnson family.

In addition to Ellie’s parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry E. Newman, a sister, Virginia Show, and a sister-in-law Elaine Newman.

Per Ellie’s wishes, there will be no public viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service which will be conducted by Reverend William Anzevino, Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11a.m. at Christian Assembly Church, Ohioville.
