Elizabeth J. “Betty Jo” (Dickson) Weinacht, 88, of Brighton Township passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the Reformed Presbyterian Home, Pittsburgh.
Born November 21, 1927 in Hong Kong, China, she was a daughter of the late Ellsworth J.M. Dickson and Florence (Williamson) Dickson. Betty retired as a registered nurse from the Gateway Rehabilitation Center in Center Township. As the daughter of missionary parents, she also had a heart for telling others, particularly youth, about Jesus, and was a devout member of her beloved church, Tusca Area Reformed Presbyterian, where she considered members to be part of her family.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, John P. Weinacht, in 2005, and a grandson, Curtis Bashaw, Jr., in 2007.
Surviving Betty are two daughters, Christina (Michael) Whitmer, Fort Belvoir, VA, and Dawn (Craig) Claerbaut, and their children, Duncan, Anna, Trevor, and Megan, all of Ohioville, one stepdaughter, Sharon (Dave) Robitille, Lowell, VT, and a stepson, Steven J. (Laurie) Weinacht, Randolph, MA, along with 8 more grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday, June 17, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver, where a funeral service, officiated by Dr. Jonathan Watt, will take place Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 10:00 am. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
