Emily Jacobs Montgomery

Emily Jacobs Montgomery, Age 98, entered into God’s rest on October 16, 2023 at Beaver Valley Healthcare and Rehab. She was born in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania on June 28, 1925 to the late Ben W. and Margaret Jacobs.

In addition, she was preceded in death by her “forever” love of 63 years, Roy Lee Montgomery, Sr., a daughter, Charlotte Louise, a granddaughter, Laura Christine Montgomery, a daughter-in-law, Joann Montgomery, and a son-in-law, Larry Kemp.

Emily is survived by her four children, daughter, Sandra Kemp, son Roy L. Montgomery Jr. and his partner, Charlie, daughter, Barbara (Tom) Holmes, and son, James R. (Debbie) Montgomery. She was blessed with nine grandchildren and their spouses, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great, great granddaughter.

As the oldest of four children, she learned at a young age the meaning of hard work on the family farm. She was one of God’s lights who remained a giver and caretaker to her family, friends, and neighbors for her entire life.

Emily loved to feed people. Her cinnamon rolls (sticky buns) were legendary. She loved to provide and share what she had with all. Life was often a struggle for her and Dad, but her faith in God and her sense of humor sustained her. Her laughter was contagious. As we celebrate her life, let laughter be a part of it.

She was blessed with a multitude of helpers over the years. We thank Beaver Valley Healthcare and Vitas Hospice for their compassionate care.

Friends will be received Monday, October 23, 2023, from 4 PM until 7 PM. in the Noll Funeral Home Inc, 333 Third Street Beaver. A Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor John Reed on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 10AM the Oak Grove Church of Christ, 169 Ashwood Drive, Industry, PA 15052.
