Fernando Frank Montagnese

March 5, 1942 — October 28, 2022

Fernando Frank Montagnese, 80, of Beaver, passed away unexpectedly at home on October 28, 2022. Born on March 5, 1942, in Mongiana, Italy, to the late Salvatore and Maria Gemma Timpano Montagnese. Frank was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Saint Cecelia Church. He came to the United States at the young age of 19 through Ellis Island and had to learn the entire English language. Frank’s first job in the States was at the former Geriatric Center of Beaver County. He then worked for the Rochester Boro before working for and retiring from the PBI Steel Mill in Rochester. In his retirement, he worked various small jobs, the most recent being an office clerk at Western Beaver High School. Frank filled an intrinsic role in bringing soccer to Beaver County; for many years, he played, coached, and refereed all over the county. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing pool, gardening, and baking. But most of all, he loved his family dearly; despite his illness, he was always quick to get down on the floor to play with all of his great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Pompeo Montagnese.

Frank will be sadly missed by his wife of 53 years, Millie (Ratkovich) Montagnese; daughters, Millie (Jamey) Droz, of New Sewickley, Pennsylvania, and Frannie (David A.) Gosseck, of Naples, Florida; and sister, Antionetta Gerace, of Daphne, Alabama. He was Pap to Michael (Kaitlyn Smerkar) Droz, John Tylor Greer, Christopher Frank (Madeline Kiefer) Droz, and Melissa (Rusty) Brnilovich; and Nonno to Paisley Gemma Brnilovich, Rusty Alex Brnilovich Jr., Lilly Lynn Brnilovich, Maverick David Brnilovich, and Kamdyn Lyal Droz. Frank will also be sadly missed by his life-long friends and extended family, Sig Brauch, Rick and Cookie White, and the White family; and by numerous sisters, brothers, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.\

Family and friends will be received on November 1, 2022 in the Noll Funeral Home Inc. at 333 Third Street, Beaver, PA 15009 from 2pm until 6pm when they are welcome to stay for a Blessing Service. Online condolences may be shared at www.nollfuneral.com.
