Filomena Troiano, 93, died Tuesday, March 22, 2022. She was a longtime resident of Industry, Pennsylvania and most recently resided at Masonic Village, Sewickley, PA. Born November 13, 1928 in Pignataro Maggiore, Italy, she immigrated to the US with her family. She earned a degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh and taught Spanish for a number of years at Beaver, Blackhawk and Hopewell school districts. Filomena enjoyed reading, playing bridge, golfing and baking. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, PA Association of Retired Teachers, Ohioview Industry Women’s Club, Fort MacIntosh Ladies Auxiliary and a longtime volunteer at the Beaver Library. Filomena was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Josephine Palumbo, her loving husband, Albert Troiano; brother, Peter Palumbo; and sister, Mary Pontano. She is survived by two sons, David (Kathleen) Troiano, and Mark (Jan) Troiano; daughter Karen (John) Shelar; six grandchildren, Ryan (Jen) Troiano, Lauren (Mikel) Hoffman, Liza (Jonathan) Williamson, Katlyn Shelar, Christopher (Jamie) Troiano and Nicholas Shelar; and four great-grandchildren, Joel, Emmett, Hope and Haven.
