George "Jake" Bailey

January 21, 1940 — July 12, 2018

George A.  “Jake” Bailey, 78 of Beaver was greeted and embraced by Jesus on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Providence Health Care Center, Beaver Falls.

Born January 21, 1940 in Monaca, he was a son of the late Albert E., Sr., and Edith Herman Bailey and had been a resident of Beaver nearly all of his life.  Jake had been a longtime employee of Beaver Borough as a mechanic and employee of the street department.  A veteran of the US Army, Jake was also a member of the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department for nearly 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy “Dottie” Rogus Bailey, a son, Michael Bailey, Beaver, a daughter, Jodi (Charles Muskgrove) Bailey, Rochester, 2 grandchildren, Cody Hummel, Aliquippa, Jade Hummel, Patterson, 2 sisters, Phyllis Newberry, New Brighton, Cecelia (Robert) McDaniel, Brighton Twp., and 4 great grandchildren, Faye, Landon, Lucas, and Jaxson. He is also survived by his brother in law and friend, Dick Roy, Brighton Twp., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death beside his parents, was a son, Gregg M. Bailey in 2003, 5 brothers, Ernest, Howard, Albert, JR., Roger and Robert Bailey, and five sisters, Virginia Anderson, Bernice Bailey, Nancy Bonzo, Constance Bauman, and Shirley Williams.

Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver where a service will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 am by Pastor Bill Blume.  Interment will take place at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.

The family would like to share their gratitude to the staff at Providence Health Care Center and Good Samaritan Hospice for the loving care given to Jake.
