George G. Davis, 87, of Ohioville, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 26, 2022. Born on November 29, 1934, in Canton, Ohio, George was the son of the late Sofronios George and Anna Hatzinicola, and was an active and faithful member of St. Blaise Roman Catholic Parish, where he served as an usher. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Anthony Club. George worked as a pipefitter in Crucible Steel in Midland PA. In the 1950’s, George played minor league baseball for the Milwaukee Braves. He was known for hitting one of the longest homeruns when he played in Midland. George loved bowling, all Pittsburgh Sports, especially the Pirates, and his Friday night poker club, which he played in for over 50+ years. Most of all George loved his family and was a great Dad and Papa. He will be greatly missed. May he Rest in Peace now. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Francis Davis; and daughter, Karen Smith. George will be sadly missed by his son, George S. (Marnie) Davis, of Ohioville; daughter, Diane L. (Dan) Kennedy, of Industry; brother, Walter Davis, of Nashville, TN; brother-in-law, William Roman, of Beaver; sister-in-law, Susan Roman, of Florida; grandchildren, Kristen Lozzi, Brittany and Brian Smith, Danny and Michael Kennedy, Taylor, Casey, and Carley Davis; great-grandchildren, Cory and Brady Earhart, Cayden Parker, Ari and Roman Kennedy, and Malina Zamora; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as special friends Cookie and Ed Pontis, Moose and Rocco Uccelini, and Andy Toncic. Friends will be received on from 3pm-7pm on Wednesday November 30, 2022, in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home Inc., 600 Beaver Avenue, Midland, PA 15059. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on December 1, 2022 at 10:30am at St. Blaise Roman Catholic Parish, 772 Ohio Avenue, Midland, PA 15059.
