Georgene Paplomatas Pileggi, age 89, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, in St. Petersburg.

Born on April 20, 1937, in Wilmerding, Pennsylvania, she was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Rose Gerbi. She was a graduate of Beaver Area High School and carried throughout her life the values of kindness, resilience, and compassion that became her hallmark.

Georgene was devoted to her family and found her greatest joy in the people she loved. She is survived by her daughter, Lori Paplomatas Snedeker of St. Petersburg, Florida; her son, James Paplomatas (Jennifer) of Beaver, Pennsylvania; five cherished grandchildren, Troy J. Paplomatas (Morgan) of Roanoke, Virginia, James C. Snedeker (Danielle) of Santa Clara, California, Thomas Alexander Paplomatas of Grapevine, Texas, Julia P. Pritzlaff (Jake) of Clayton, North Carolina, and Anna D. Paplomatas of Beaver, Pennsylvania; and four adored great-grandchildren, Coleman J. Paplomatas, Grayson R. Paplomatas, Jiraiya J. Snedeker, and Georgia D. Pritzlaff.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Michael Paplomatas (1993) and Floyd Pileggi (2006) her beloved son, Michael Joseph Paplomatas (2021), and her brother, Robert J. Gerbi.

Those fortunate enough to know Georgene will remember her for her unwavering kindness, empathy, and understanding. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel seen, valued, and cared for, especially during difficult times. Generous with her time, attention, love, and support, she created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.

Georgene was also a passionate animal lover. Throughout her life, she opened her heart to dogs, cats, and countless animals in need. Her special companion was Scooter, her beloved Shih Tzu, who brought her immense joy and comfort.

A dedicated member of her community, Georgene volunteered her time and talents to help others. She chaired several neighborhood committees and proudly served as Director of Help Thy Neighbor, always seeking ways to support those around her and strengthen the community she loved.

More than any title or accomplishment, Georgene's legacy is the love she shared. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and steadfast devotion to family and friends will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. She leaves behind a lifetime of treasured memories and a family who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
