Gloria “GoGo” Deem, 66, of Rotonda West, Florida, formerly of Ohioville, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019 surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Gloria was born on July 13, 1952, in Rochester, daughter of the late Charles and Ethelda Carpenter. Gloria was a graduate of Center High School, Class of 1970. For several years, she owned her own hair styling salon. Gloria’s faith, family and friends were the most important to her. She was a faithful member of the East Englewood Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Gloria read and studied her Bible daily. She enjoyed sharing God’s Word with others and confidently believed in Jehovah God’s promise to end sickness and death. Gloria also spent many days looking after elderly ones in her Texas congregation.
In her leisure time, Gloria enjoyed spending time with those she loved, her flower garden, camping, boating, fishing and traveling with her husband. She loved the beach, the water—mostly she loved her family. Gloria’s home was always filled with love and laughter, she made everyone feel loved and important. She was the greatest hostess…whenever you stayed with her or had dinner with her, she made you feel like you were the most important person in her home or at her table. Gloria had the most incredible laugh, it filled the room and made all around her want to laugh. There will be many people remembering the great person she was. Perhaps it’s best said, she was loved and will be missed.
Gloria was a loving wife, mother and friend to all. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Charles Deem; by her daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Steve Pitkow; her grandson Reed; her brothers and sisters, Chuck and Betty Carpenter; Elise Pryor; Nona Carpenter; James Adlof; John and Linda Carpenter; Harry and Janet Carpenter; Tom and Rose Speary. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who she cherished dearly.
In addition to her parents, Gloria is preceded in death by her loving stepmother Ruth Carpenter who raised her from the age of seven, her sisters Sarah Carpenter and Patty Bundy, her brothers Richard Adlof, Bill Lake, Oscar Carpenter, Larry Carpenter, Billie Carpenter, and Frank Carpenter.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, July 19, 2019, from 2 PM to 4 PM and from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Noll Funeral Home, 333 3rd Street in Beaver. Interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery, Beaver. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, July 20 at the Beaver Falls Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
