Helen Franzetta, 101, formerly of Midland and Boalsburg, PA, passed away peacefully in her sleep, October 24, 2016.
Born October 10, 1915 in Midland, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Onuska. Helen lived in Midland for more than 98 years, and in Boalsburg, PA for the past two. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and devoted caregiver to her mother. Helen was an active member of St. Blaise Parish, Midland, the Catholic Daughters of America, Christian Mothers Guild, St. Vincent DePaul Society, and the St. Anthony Club Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joseph Franzetta, one sister, Ethel Sopko, and brothers, Michael, Steve, Joseph, Albert, George, Emil, and Robert Onuska.
She is survived by her son, Chuck Franzetta and his wife Jean of Boalsburg, PA; a daughter, Josie Franzetta, Morrisville, NC; two granddaughters, Shari and Gina Franzetta, both of Boston, MA; three sisters-in-law, Julia, Helen, and Jackie Onuska; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday, October 28, 2016 from 4 pm until 7 pm in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Avenue, Midland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Michael Yaksick Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Blaise Parish, Midland. Interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery, Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
