Helen “Tica” Hineman, 89, of Midland passed away, Thursday, April 23, 2026.
Born April 30, 1936, in Midland, she was a daughter of the late Mitchell and Mary Rakas Disdore. A resident of Midland and Industry all her life, Helen was an active member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church for 50 years, where she sang in the choir and participated with the American Serbian Club Serbian Sisters. Known as a voracious reader, Helen would read nearly a book a day.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Hineman III in 1982; her brother-in-law, James DiTullio; and uncle, Joseph Gesdar.
She will be greatly missed by her sons, Robert (Lydia) Hineman, Industry, and John M. (Kathy) Hineman, Center Twp.; nephew, David (Kate) DiTullio and a special niece who was more of a daughter to Helen, Janet DiTullio; sister, Evelyn DiTullio, Midland; granddaughters, Alena (Brian) Rohm, Independence, and Mya (Jeddy)Young, Center Twp., and great-grandson, Luca Young.
As per Helen’s wishes, a funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Midland. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Helen’s name may be made to the Carnegie Free Library, Midland.
The family would like to thank Gateway Hospice and Beaver Valley Healthcare and Rehab for the excellent care given to Helen.
