Helen I. (McCreary) Specht, 96, of Beaver, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015 at Rochester Manor with her family at her side.

Born April 4, 1919 in Rochester, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Etta VanHorn McCreary. Helen, along with her late husband Walter, was the former owner of the Penn Monaca Steel Products Company in Monaca, a former member of the First Baptist Church in Rochester, and a current member of the First Baptist Church of Woodlawn, Aliquippa. She served in the Pittsburgh Baptist Association and PA/Delaware Baptist Association, and as a treasurer of the King Beaver Tenants Association.

Beside her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband Walter Specht in 1988.

She is survived by 2 sons, Lawrence W. (Charlene) Specht, Jr., Rocky Mountain, NC, Paul E. (Terri) Specht, Brighton Township, and 1 daughter, Joyce (Harry) Fry, Brighton Township. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren: Andrew (Amber) Specht, Laura (Eric) Julien, Stephen Specht, Joseph (Stephanie Martincsek) Specht, Kristin (Jason) Bumblis, and Gretchen (Bill) Chamberlain, and 6 great-grandchildren, Johnnie and Mikialah Specht, Domenic and Aubrey Bumblis, and William and Joseph Chamberlain.

Friends will be received in the Noll Funeral Home, 333 Third Street, Beaver, Sunday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church, 2107 McMinn Street, Aliquippa, PA 15001, Monday, August 17, at 11:00AM by Rev Howard Irwin. A private interment will take place at Sylvania Hills Cemetery.
