Herman (Red) M. Powell passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 6, 2022.
The son of Donald and Alice (Hogue) Powell, he was born on February 10, 1931 on College Hill, Beaver Falls, PA and raised in downtown Beaver Falls. He graduated from Beaver Falls High School in in 1949 and he served in the United States Air Force from 1951 thru 1954.
Red spent most of his life in automobile sales starting with Ron Henry Automobiles in New Brighton, PA and then spending 54 years at Morrow Motors (Ron Lewis Motors) in Beaver Falls, PA as a Salesperson and Lease and Fleet Manager. He retired in 2004 and continued on as a consultant until 2012. He may have forgotten your name but, he could always tell you the year, model, color and make of your first car.
Red was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish (Sts. Peter and Paul Church) in Beaver, PA where he ushered for over 50 years.
Red is survived by his wife of 62 years Donna (Dierdorf) Powell, Beaver, PA; his children Greg Powell, Beaver PA; Scott Powell, Venetia, PA; and Mary Lynn Powell, Tallmadge, OH; his daughters-in-law Patti Powell, Beaver, PA and Michelle Powell, Venetia, PA; grandchildren Meghan Sperdute, Emily (Matt) Condio, Kylie Powell and Michael Powell; his brother Richard (Dick) Powell, Spingfield MO; brother-in-law Donald Dierdorf, Center, PA; and sister-in-law Roberta Dierdorf, Monaca, PA. He also leaves behind many close friends and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was proceeded in death by his sisters Donna Medarac and Peggy Yarmola; sister-in-law Betty Dierdorf and brother-in-law Robert Dierdorf.
Red loved his family, his Country and his red wine (and a rusty nail or two). Have a glass in his honor. He will be missed. We love you Dad! Special thanks to the nurses and doctors at Heritage Valley Beaver for their compassion and kindness.
Friends and family will be received at Noll Funeral Home Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM NOLL FUNERAL HOME, INC. 333 THIRD ST. BEAVER, PA 15009. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of the Valley Parish (Sts. Peter and Paul Church), Beaver, PA on Thursday at 10 AM, followed by full military honors.
